Bio

Caroline Bach is a young textile and jewellery artist, living and studying in Amsterdam at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. She first studied contemporary tapestry at the Duperré School with artist Diana Brennan where she developed a taste for medium and small size wire sculptures. She then continued her career in China where she added several techniques of miniature sculpture to her toolbox (fruit stones and jade), as well as the fundamentals of jewellery.
This interest then led her to Amsterdam where she developed an artistic language mixing textiles and jewellery. We find some persistent themes in her work, including that of soft material, and in-between states of material that can be found in many of her creations. She claims a dual identification with textiles and jewellery.  Larry Waxman
