Materialisation — 2019
Materialisation is a project which seeks to make visible the transformation of rubber fromthe rubber tree (hevea) seed to the tyre–exposing a process usually forgotten or unknown. Each piece within the project has an educative power and acts as a support for me in my statements on the rubber industry. Wearability helps bring the body closer to what might otherwise seem like cold information and criticality. I am trying to reach the wearer’ semotions and sensations as they can physically experiment with each step of the material’s exploitation as rendered in my work.
